Rolls-Royce Hood Ornaments
In 1904, Fredrick Royce and Charles Rolls entered into a deal where Royce would manufacture motorcars and Rolls would exclusively market them. The name on the autos was changed from 'Royce' to 'Rolls-Royce', and in 1906 the first of the legendary Silver Ghosts began rolling out of the Manchester factory. From the beginning the luxury automobiles were aimed at exclusive upscale customers.
Over the ensuing years Rolls-Royce introduced several well loved models. Some of the more memorable are - Silver Cloud, Silver Ghost, Silver Dawn, Phantom, Silver Wraith and Silver Shadow. The Rolls-Royce flying lady is probably one of the Worlds most recognized hood ornaments. It is still prominently in use on most models of Rolls today.![]() |
