Jaguar Hood Ornaments

Jaguar cars was begun as the Swallow Sidecar Co. in 1922, by William Lyons and William Walmsley. The company moved from sidecars to autos in 1931 with the introduction of the 'Standard Swallow 1'. Other models followed, then in 1936, the SS Jaguar 100, debuted. Soon the Jaguar name was being applied to all the cars in the Swallow lineup. The company officially registered as Jaguar Cars, Ltd. in late 1937. A series of elegantly styled sports cars and luxury saloons, in the 1950s and 60's, cemented the Jaguar name as one of the world's finest cars.

The now famous leaping Jaguar hood ornaments have been a standard company logo on almost all of the luxury models

right from the very conception of the company, and only a few of the sports and racing models were made without them. This hood ornament is considered one of the most recognized corporate symbols in the world.
